Making Changes
After watching myself on a friend’s video at the age of 30, I was shocked to see that so called good living had finally caught up with me. Smoking, drinking and a love for food was getting out of control.
I decided it was time to seriously think about a new direction and develop a healthier life style. The road ahead seemed quite tough as I hadn’t been involved in any sort of exercise since I was a school boy.
Just by making a few difficult but simple changes to the way I ate and exercised I found myself feeling better mentally and physically. To keep motivated I started to set myself goals and begin to get a sense of purpose in who I am and what I can achieve. After 6 months or so I began to realize that fitness had replaced the comfort I had previously craved from all the wrong sources. Within a year I had lost 4 stone.

I felt so good about myself I pushed even further and took up the gruelling sport of Triathlon and was coached and trained by a World & British Triathlon Champion.
Then I set a new goal of running the London Marathon. Now I am over 40 and the weight has kept off. I have now completed 3 London Marathons, climbed 2 of the highest mountain stages of the Tour De France & won my Class in the Corporate Games Triathlon event & Learnt the important lesson of developing a Healthy Balance for everyday living. I now get a great sense of satisfaction in encouraging & motivating others to set goals and push them to new limits.
Your story will be different to mine, however the same approach of making a commitment, goal setting and maintaining motivation which will help you build a healthy foundation to creative change in your life.
